What is MG?
“How long did it take the MG to spread?” John asked.
“Not long. The Marauder was on the ground in less than three minutes.”
This is an excerpt from page 118 of Alien Earth: Hope Cometh, the first time MG is mentioned.
I won't go into great detail as to what it is, but just because you aren't given an explanation right away doesn't mean you'll be left in the dark. You will learn what it is and where it comes from later on in the book.
If you can't wait, however, here are all the pages MG is either mentioned or explained:

Are the timelines in the book important?
The timelines are very important. If you don't pay attention to them, you'll get lost in a hurry. But don't worry, they don't slow you down. In fact, they actually help, especially in the early invasion chapters.

I should say the prologue was an excellant start! The attack on earth was wow and sad all at the same time. The fight scenes were detailed perfectly (gross but perfectly gross)! I could really see them coming alive on TV series or in a movie. I loved that the main character was a girl! Thanks for empowering females that will read this book and for getting guys to see a girl as a powerful force that can hold her own! I enjoyed the family relationship and how their family expanded with Jenna and Austin."
